Course Description

Nurse aide training program approved by the Colorado Board of Nursing (80 hours).  Focused on the nursing assistant role as it applies to resident/ patient care. Topics include communication, emergency/first aid, infection prevention/ control, holistic care, promotion of independence, resident rights, death and dying care, body systems and conditions, observation, reporting to the nurse, dementia/ Alzheimers care, basic nursing personal care skills, nutrition and hydration, vital signs (including manual BP), rehabilitation care, skills demonstration/videos for state tested skills, on-site labs, hands-on clinicals. Included with the course is an optional OPEN LAB SKILL date(s) held after graduation and prior to state testing. 

Options for CNA Course Completion:  

CNA CLASS SECTIONS:

5 hour classes except *CLINICAL SIMULATION (6.5hrs during COVID-19. *ADD one more hour of class on clinical simulation days). Starting in June we will return to clinical sites in a LTCF, shifts will be 8 hours.

AH: M,T,W, 8:30-1:40pm

(morning and online)

BH:(evening and online)

T,W,TH, 5p-10:10pm 

CH: Full week (6 days)

(must complete most of online prior to day 1)

Traditional: (all in class & homework, NO ONLINE)

A: morning, NO ONLINE

Plan on a lot of Homework!

PLEASE NOTE: We are starting back to clinicals onsite in LTCFs. COVID vaccination record will be required to attend clinicals. Please contact us prior to enrollment if you have any questions or concerns. Currently LTCFs are also requiring a PCR COVID test just prior to clinicals.
